| Case |
A 2 year old girl, accidentally consumed corrosive. She developed a local high postcricoid stricture in the upper oesophagus. She presented to Dr. Sanjiv Haribhakti on 27th May, 2002. She underwent repeated oesophageal dilatation under GA , inspite of which there was recurrence of stricture after 3-4 weeks of dilatation. Subsequently she underwent an external stenting for 4 weeks after the 8th episode of dilatation performed on 2nd August, 2002, after which she has not required any repeat dilatation till now. |
