Pancreas
Name Sumaiyaben Patel
   
Case A 24 year old lady, had severe pancreatic pain and was detected to have chronic pancreatitis. She was operated in Mumbai for distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy. She continued to have pain and presented to Dr. Sanjiv Haribhakti. Investigation in form of CT scan and MRCP revealed a stone in the head of pancreas and dilated pancreatic duct in the head region. She had severe brittle insulin dependent diabetis mellitus which was controlled with Insulin injections.
   
  She was oerated by Dr. Sanjiv Haribhakti on 4th March, 2004 at Sterling Hospital. The pancreatic duct was opened in the head and the stones were removed. A lateral pancreaticojejunostomy was performed. The postoperative course smooth and uneventful Her diabetis was managed with insulin infusions. On followoup, she is fine without any pain and in good health.
